We were pleased to host Timilehin Dabiri and Faidat Akinsanya as interns at Osuntuyi & Tokan-Lawal Law (OTL Law) from 9 April 2025 to 9 May 2025. Timilehin and Faidat are members of the Lagos State University (LASU) ADR Society and participated in the firm’s mentoring initiative in collaboration with the Society.
Their internship was designed to provide hands-on experience with both the procedural and substantive aspects of legal practice, and they fully embraced every learning opportunity.
During their time with us, they gained insight into:
- Copyright and Contract Law
- Court processes and proceedings
- Rules and practice of Arbitration, Mediation, and Negotiation
- Legal research and professional writing
Each week included exposure to at least one court or arbitration session, followed by debriefs and discussions. They were also assigned various research tasks to sharpen their legal reasoning and analytical skills.
Beyond the office and courtroom, they participated in legal outreach on child rights and juvenile justice. This included a visit to the Special Correctional Centre for Boys in Oregun and participation in CRJJC’s Know Your Rights outreach at St. Timothy School, Yaba, where they helped educate children on their legal rights in fun and engaging ways.
To cap off their experience, they delivered a presentation to the firm on key takeaways from their time with us, demonstrating not just what they learned, but how they’ve grown.
We are proud of their progress and wish them continued success on their legal journey.
