On Tuesday, 22 April 2025, our partner, Tope Tokan-Lawal, participated in the Lagos edition of the Corporate Affairs Commission’s Stakeholders Forum in her capacity as a delegate of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos Branch. The delegation was led by Mrs Uchenna Akingbade
The Registrar-General of the Commission was ably represented by his Special Adviser, who highlighted key initiatives under the RG’s four-point agenda. He also outlined several reforms implemented since the RG’s appointment in October 2023, including a notable reduction in service downtimes.
He further announced the adoption of artificial intelligence to enhance service delivery particularly for name availability checks and the registration of business names and companies. With these developments, stakeholders can now access select CAC services 24/7, rather than being limited to traditional working hours.
Additionally, he spoke on plans to introduce value-added services by onboarding professional firms as “super agents” of the Commission. These agents will be granted API integration with the CAC database to help better serve customers and streamline the registration process.
We commend the Commission’s progress and look forward to the effective implementation of these new digital initiatives and the continued transformation of service delivery across the Commission.
