On the 31st of July, 2023, the CAC published a list of 94,581 companies which have been prepared to be struck off the CAC’s Companies Register for non compliance with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 (CAMA). The list includes companies registered between 1985 and 1991, and which have not filed up to date annual returns.
A company on the list can only be removed therefrom if it complies with the provisions of CAMA within 90 days of publication by filing its up to date annual returns. Once a company is struck off the list, and thereby deregistered, it will no longer be able to lawfully engage in business.
This drive is part of the CAC’s planned deregistration of non-compliant companies.
